Drift – IF

June 19, 2009

When I think of the word “drift” I automatically think of walking aimlessly, trying to find a place to call home. I guess that’s what a “drifter” is. But it’s not a word I hear often, but when I do, it has a sinister connotation to it.

But, I choose not to claim the word drifter as negative, in my romantic mind, a drifter is someone destine to walk finding solace in the walk and having no place that calls them home. Home is where they are at the time they are drifting through.

Let your feet, heart and mind drift, it’s call peace.

This is so beautifully illustrated and I love your take on word as well. It really touches my heart. These feet have been some places and I feel that in this piece. Those dogs are talking. This is wonderful. Have a wonderful weekend my friend. You are the best! Your comments brought a big ol smile to my face this morning.

I saw this earlier & was really impressed by it. I like that you used ‘drifting’ as in ‘drifters.’ The colors and shapes are great.

I really like your take on drifting. I think of the word ‘drifter’ as more of an adventurer than a person without an aim in life. I’m quite envious of these types of people for their love for spontaneousity.

Nicely put! I always think it would be nice to live out in nature and have no worries about how to pay the bills, but there is no place like coming home to a nice warm bed.
