Soul Collage

January 21, 2013

When life is too hectic, I love to spend some down time, going deep and reflecting. One way I do this is by Soul Collaging. So this week, I’ll share one of my images and my thoughts on this image making.  This collage was created during my monthly meeting of beautiful soul collagers.  Exploring your intuitiveness is an amazing experience that should become a part of your daily life.

Here is what this collage says to me:

“I am one who has gained wisdom through trial and error again and again. I have been running away from myself. It is only since I have come into the second half of life that I realize that there is no wrong, in any lesson that has helped me to grow. Vulnerability, the thing I hid the most; is the one I show the world and that I am most proud of.

I have grown to a patina that shows all my scars and my blindness in its beautiful glory. The world moves on by me and my shadow side is still evident. I have become friends with death and we have many conversations. I am finally wise and beautiful in this life.”

What conversations are in your soul?

This is so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. We did something similar at the retreat I went to this weekend. We made a collage and did some journaling "this s-hero is ready to…" but then we passed our journals around the circle a few times. I have some lovely comments and affirmations from other women who wrote about my collage. It was a fantastic experience. So glad you shared this! xo

This makes me wonder if maybe the things we lose when we get older, vanity, sight, teeth, whatever is the universe's way of making us turn inward? Maybe makes us think about what we learned in all those lessons we get by living life? Very thought-provoking, and a very striking image!

Linda, I think you may be right! As we get older, many of us tend do go inward and become more reflective. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! 🙂

I applaud you! That is a moving and powerful collage, so full of significance and self acceptance. I agree with you. Every scar and every laugh line is a badge of honor.

Oooh, I love all the projects you have going on right now in your studio!
