This painting was created as part of my Winter Series. Flashing back to the past…women have always gotten together with their friends, hanging out, having adventures or just kicking back. Winter can’t stand in the way of you and your posse!
Winter is often seen as a barren and desolate time. For many it brings darkness and melancholy. I wanted to create this series to bring light into this time, for me and others. Creating this series was my way of meditation on winter. It also was a way for me to experiment with encaustics, which really added to this series. I hope this piece brings as much light to you as it has to me.
This mixed-media original painting is a 12 x 12 x 1.5 inch birch wood panel. This painting was created with acrylic paint, vintage papers, encaustic paints, charcoal, photo, vintage lace, buttons, wood, thread, vintage handwritten letters, and layers of handmade paper.
