All of the details...
This painting was created as part of my Winter Series. I see butterflies as a symbol of light, hope and energy. Since butterflies are not generally seen in the coldness of winter, I hoped by creating this this piece it would be an ode to hope during the winter months, especially in those regions where frosty temperatures rule!
Winter is often seen as a barren and desolate time. For many it brings darkness and melancholy. I wanted to create this series to bring light into this time, for me and others. Creating this series was my way of meditation on winter. It also was a way for me to experiment with encaustics, which really added to this series. I hope piece brings as much light to you as it has to me.
This mixed-media original painting is a 12 x 12 x 1.5 inch birch wood panel. This painting was created with layers of acrylic paint, vintage papers, encaustic paints, charcoal, graphite, glass, wood, brass key and layers of paper.
This painting can easily hang on the wall with a nail, an easel or mounting with wire and would look fabulous in any room in your home or office. This painting comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
