All of the details...
12×12 Mixed Media Original Painting.
This painting is a one of (5) paintings in my series, entitled, “The Patterns of Women”. This mixed-media original painting is a 12 x 12 x 1.5 inch inspired by Gustav Klimt. I love the idea of patterns, color and three dimensional elements combined with portraiture! It is my new way of combining portraiture, abstraction, the universal womanhood and vivid color. This painting was done with acrylic paints, handmade paper, archival paper, and fabric.
An acrylic gel medium was then added, that acts as a scratch barrier, the painting is then finished with a gloss non-removable varnish. This painting can easily hang on the wall with a nail, an easel or mounting with wire and would look fabulous in any room in your home or office. This painting comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
By painting the many faces of women, I connect to the concept of universal womanhood types that celebrate all women’s energy, thoughts, dreams, memories and spirits.
As I create my art, through paintings, drawings, art journals and altered books, I reveal aspects of myself and my connection to womanhood. My art speaks a language of many cultures and I feel immense reverence in being able to translate my individuality into this multitude. My unique and stylized way of creating art comes through in all my creations.
