Pride = POGURI and the Land of Nou

June 10, 2008

I am so proud of my son. As his mother, of course I think he’s wonderful, talented and creative, and I love the fact that he’s proving I’m not the only one who thinks so! I love to think that this leaf didn’t fall far from the tree!

Currently he is hard at work on this wonderful little gem and he explains it so much better than I can ever…

POGURI and the Land of Nou is a children’s story concept intended to be realized through an illustrated novel and feature-length film. It is a story intended as a throwback to the more grim and more viscerally satisfying children’s tales, unapologetic in their use of darker themes. Violence, although never gratuitous, will be present enough, and real enough, to make a strong emotional impact. It will raise the bar above the endless stream of “animal escape” plots and tales of saccharine-sweet children. It will be a return to classics such as tales from the Brothers Grimm and movies such as Gremlins® and Beetlejuice®, containing elements of idyllic fantasy and shades of the macabre.
